PAIN PRIOR TO MENSES (PREMENSTRUAL SYNDROME PMS)
Recurring physical and emotional symptoms related to the menstrual
cycle (5-11 days before the bleeding and 1-2 days after the bleeding) constitute the premenstrual syndrome.
The causes could be fluid retention,
 raised prostaglandin level or
 a diet lacking in nutrients.
Symptoms
The symptoms are;
Irritability,
Depression,
Mood swings,
Change in sleeping patterns,
Change in appetite
and change in libido.
Self care
* Family and friends should be supportive and reassuring during
   that period.
* Supplements of vitamin B6 could be taken.
* Reduction of salt intake reduces fluid retention  offers
   relief from premenstrual tension.
