OSTEOPOROSES
Osteoporosis is a health disorder where the CALCIUM content of the
bone decreases. 
This  thinning of  bones  leads  to  fractures.
Occurs more frequently in later years.
Factors that decrease bone density and strength are;
* Lack of physical activity - thinness of bones  occurs in  a
   sedentary lifestyle,
* Low intake of calcium and vitamin D in the diet,
* Smoking and alcohol abuse, and
* Early menopause
You may have no complaint till one day you bend to pick up an
object and get a sharp pain.
The x-ray shows a fracture of your
rib.
The other symptoms may be back pain, loss of height or fracture
of spine or hip.
Self Care
* Consume a diet rich in calcium (increase milk intake)
* Exercise regularly
* Do not smoke or drink alcohol
* Maintain  good posture while sitting,  standing  and  walking
  prevent falls, well fit shoes, and even, well lit floors
* Hormone replacement therapy could be considered, if
  postmenopousal
