Roundworm infection
Infection by round worms is seen world wide.
It is transmitted by ingestion of food and water contaminated by human waste, containing the eggs of worms.
The infection could be asymptomatic.
In some, the symptoms would be nausea, vomiting, anorexia, abdominal cramps, diarrhea, weight loss and fever.
A stool test for the presence of the ova (eggs) of the worms is
used to confirm the diagnosis.
