GLOSSARY A-Z 90 immersion foot-immunotherapy


Technical terms come up in discussion with your physician at various stages of your meeting/ encounters with him.
 If the meaning of these terms is lost on you, you do not benefit from the discussion.
 It is therefore important that you understand the meaning and content of these terms.
This not only helps you to understand fully what is said but also helps you to ask question to clarify issues raised by your understanding.

Immersion foot Cold injury to foot when it is exposed to cold under wet  conditions; also called trench foot from the First World War context).
Immunity ( im yu nitee ) The ability that protects an organism from invasion and injury by bacteria and other protein elements recognized as foreign by the immune system of that organism.
Immunology Study of the immune system and its role in disorders.
Immunotherapy  To treat disorders by altering  the  immune system  response. This is being  done in allergies and cancer.
