GLOSSARY A-Z 45 Detached retina Deviated nasal septum Diabetese Diagnosis


Detached retina The sensitive retina pasted on the inside of the eyeball detaches due to degeneration or injury (a blow) resulting in blurred vision. This is a serious condition. Consult an eye surgeon



Deviated nasal septum The central partition between the two nostrils is deviated to one side. This obstructs the flow of air and secretion producing chronic symptoms of headache, snoring, difficulty in breathing, or sinusitis. Consult a surgeon.



Diabetes (dai e bee tis) Inability of the body to use sugar and carbohydrates because of diminished insulin action.


Diagnosis (dai eg no sis) The process of identification of the precise disease responsible for the symptoms and changes of function in a given case
