SIGHT Eye the image maker of objects
How it work
Your eyes function, by focusing light from the world around you, and convey it to the back of the eye.
The eyes are the organs, for this important, special sense of sight.
The eye is a globe 2.5 cm in diameter.
The movements, of the eye ball are controlled by six small muscles.
This enlarges the field of vision, by moving the eye in all directions.
These two eyes, lodged in the front, and partly within the skull, (orbit) for protection.
The images of the two eyes, are slightly different, and give a sense of depth, to the object, and indicate your distance from the object.
The cornea is the visible front part, and iris (diaphragm) just behind the cornea, it can increase or decrease the opening, to allow more, or less light.
The Lens, attached to the ciliary muscles,, can increase, or decrease, in thickness, so as to focus light on the retina.
The retina is the film, that has the receptors of rods, and cones, that respond to, and register light, shape, and colors, of the object.
These images, are conveyed by the optic nerve, that emerges from the back of the eye, to the brain.
The image is compared, with other stored images, and recognized, or stored for future reference
A sighted image is a strong evidence, of the existence of an object.
