ABSCESS

This is a name for any space filled with pus, this pus is produced as a result of infection
with bacteria.
These bacteria are also found in the pus cavity.
Culture of the pus can give you a lead as to what antibiotic will act
Treatment is with draining of the cavity by a doctor and followed by antibiotics
And dressings


SELF CARE


We need to prevent infections,all cuts need cleaning with soap and water


kept covered with band aids


See a doctor pain fever persists.


ACNE
Acne is an inflammation of the sebaceous glands of skin.
The sebaceous gland openings are blocked, leading to swellings, the pimples.
Pimples are found on the
Face,
Chest,
The back and
upper arms.
Acne start with increased sex hormones at puberty.
This causes increased oil secretion, by sebaceous glands, in its blocked state results in multiple pimples.
The acne are seen in young boys and girls.

SELF CARE
1. Wash affected part (mild soap) 2-3 times/day
2. Avoid touching the inflamed area
3. Use skin cleansers or face wash.
4. For moderate acne 500 mg tetracycline can be taken twice daily.
If the condition improves, switch to local antibiotic applications
5. Take a normal healthy diet
6. If no improvement 10-12 weeks consult skin specialist (dermatologist)
