BACK PAIN

Medical help required



If your back or neck pain has not improved noticeably after 72



hours of self-care, contact your health care provider.






Seek medical care immediately if your pain:



* Is severe or tearing in quality.



* Results from a fall or blow to your back.





Do not try to move someone who has severe neck pain or can't move his or her legs after an accident.





Moving the person can cause further injury.



* Produces weakness or numbness in one or both legs.



* Is new and is accompanied by an unexplained fever.



* Results from an injury that causes pain from your neck to shoot



down your arms and legs.



You also need to seek medical care immediately if you have one of



the following conditions:



+Poorly controlled blood pressure,



+Cancer,



+An abdominal aortic aneurysm



+Loss of bowel or bladder control.
