BOILS
Infection of the hair follicles by the organism staphylococcus is the cause of boils.The skin site of infection is red, and painful to touch or pressure
(area is tender).
A deep lesion may cause pus formation resulting in a boil.
The common sites of infection are neck, thighs buttocks and armpits.
Self care
Good personal hygiene should be a habit, with regular bathing, Washing of hands, and
Use of clean towel, and
Underwear.
Antibiotic (tetracycline) are required if there is fever.
Pus formation requires surgery to drain the pus.
