Sweets should be consumed in moderate amounts.
The worst enemies of the teeth are chewy candies, sweetened chewing   gums,
Carbonated soft drinks containing concentrated sugars, 
sweet pastries,  pies and cookies.
These should be eaten in limited amounts
The mouth washed out at the end.
* Brushing the teeth regularly and properly is the first step in
preventing caries.
It also prevents the deposition of plaque.
* The mouth should be cleansed immediately after a meal or a
  snack.
* Gums should be massaged thoroughly before brushing.
* A single good cleansing of the mouth at night before
  Retiring can go a long way towards reducing tooth decay and
    gum diseases.
*A pinch of alum (phitkari) in the mouth wash can give you a bacteria free mouth
