HEPATITISC
Hepatitis C is caused by virus HCV and transmitted through blood
or blood products.
The incubation period is 15-140 days.
The infection may be symptomless.
Fifty per cent of those infected get chronic hepatitis.
Immunisation is not possible yet.
Those at risk are person receiving blood transfusion and blood products
Self Care
Avoid untested blood and blood products.
Use only disposable needles in hospital and clinics
