GALL STONES 1
Your gall bladder stores bile, a digestive fluid produced in the
liver.
The bile passes through ducts from the gallbladder into
the small intestine and helps digest fats.
A healthy gallbladder has balanced amounts of bile acids and cholesterol.
When the concentration of cholesterol becomes too high, gallstones may form.
They can be as small as a grains of sand, or as large as a
golf ball.
Gall stones are formed when there is excess of cholesterol in the
bile or a change occurs in the composition of the bile.
The stone rarely occur in children, but occur frequently among older people.
The risk is higher in people who are overweight,
woman who have given birth to many children,
and people who consume a rich diet.
