GLOSSARY A-Z 66 fibro adenoma fibroids filaria first aid fissure

Fibroadenoma  ( fi bro ad I noma )  A benign  tumour of the breast made of epithelial cells and  fibrous tissue
Fibroid A benign  tumour of the uterus made of muscle tissue. They are firm and slow growing and may require surgery.
Filaria A parasitic disease  caused by parasites transmitted by mosquitos.
First aid  Aid  given at the site of accidents
Fissure  (fisher )  A crack in the skin or  mucous membrane. It is commonly formed at the anus ( anal fissure ) due to injury produced by hard stools.
