GLOSSARY A-Z 67 fistula food poisoning foot drop forensic medicine

Fistula (fis  chu la ) An  abnormal opening communicating with an internal mucous membrane lined tube e.g. fistula. It is the result of infection and pus formation. If it persists surgical  treatment is the only option.
Food  poisoning  A server attack of vomiting  and loose motion on eating  contaminated  is the option.
Foot drop   Paralysis of the  extensor group of muscles of the foot  due to injury or other disorders of the nerve supply of these muscles , causes the foot to hang lifelessly at an unusual angle.
Forenseic  medicine  ( for en sik )  That  part of medicine that has to do with crime ( assault , injury , murder ) and its legal implications.
