GLOSSARY A-Z 75 Globulin-goitre



Technical terms come up in discussion with your physician at various stages of your meeting/ encounters with him.
 If the meaning of these terms is lost on you, you do not benefit from the discussion.
 It is therefore important that you understand the meaning and content of these terms.

Globulin  ( glob yu lin )  One of the simple proteins in blood ( the other is albumin )
Glossitis   ( glo sitis ) Inflammation of the tongue. This is caused by Vitamin B  deficiency
Glycosuria  ( gly ko suria )  Presence of sugar in the urine; in diabetes
Goitre   Enlargement of the thyroid gland in the neck. The commonest cause is deficiency of iodine in the diet
