GLOSSARY A-Z 110 morning sickness -murmer



Technical terms come up in discussion with your physician at various stages of your meeting/ encounters with him.
 If the meaning of these terms is lost on you, you do not benefit from the discussion.
 It is therefore important that you understand the meaning and content of these terms.
This not only helps you to understand fully what is said but also helps you to ask question to clarify issues raised by your understanding.

Morning sickness  The sickness (nausea) that affects some of pregnant woman early in their pregnancy. The cause is not known.
Motion sickness  Nausea and vomiting that is experienced during travel. The motion of travel stimulates the fluid in the semicircular canals in the inner ear.
Mucous membrane  (myu kus) The thin layer of cells than lines the inner wall of the lungs and Intestines.
Multipara   (mul ti paira) A woman who has has had two or more pregnancies
Murmur   A sound heard over the heart when the valves of the heart are diseased
