Oophorectomy    (oo fer ec tomi ) Surgical removal of the ovary

Ophthalmology   Study of the eyes

Ophthalmoscope   An instrument that examines the internal structures of the eye

Opportunistic infection    The harmless resident bacteria in the body become active when opportunity is provided by: lowered body resistance (immune response), giving of broad spectrum antibiotics, or surgical operation
