 If the meaning of these terms is lost on you, you do not benefit from the discussion.
 It is therefore important that you understand the meaning and content of these terms.
This not only helps you to understand fully what is said but also helps you to ask question to clarify issues raised by your understanding.

Osteo-arthritis     A disorder of the large  joints in old age. There is pain and swelling in the joints. There is X-ray evidence of age related degenerative changes in bone and cartilage

Osteomyelitis    Inflammation of the  bone due to bacteria. It occurs in the young and presents with pain, fever and limitation of movement.

Osteoporosis (os teo pe rosis) Reduction of calcium and protein content in bone. It occurs in those who have been  bedridden for a long period and in woman in the menopausal age group

Otitis (o tit tis)    Inflammation of the ear
