Parathyroid glands  Four glands situated behind the thyroid gland in the neck. They are very small in size and produce parathormone

Paraesthesia (par es thee zia)  An abnormal pricking or numbness felt  along the path of a nerve.  It is usually due to pressure on or disease of a nerve

Parkinson’s disease A chronic nerve disease that affects those older than 50 years; they show tremors, rigidity of the body and slow movements

Paronychia   Infection around and under the nail. Usually treated with antibiotics and surgery
