GLOSSARY A-Z 135




Technical terms come up in discussion with your physician at various stages of your meeting/ encounters with him.
 If the meaning of these terms is lost on you, you do not benefit from the discussion.
 It is therefore important that you understand the meaning and content of these terms.
This not only helps you to understand fully what is said but also helps you to ask question to clarify issues raised by your understanding. 
 
Given below are the terms which you would come across in the discussion.

Progesterone    Female sex hormone produced by the overy. It prepares the lining of the uterus to receive the fertilized ovum.             
Prolapse   Abnormal outward- downward displacement of an internal organ. The most common prolapsed is of the uterus which comes out through. The most common prolapsed is of the uterus which comes out through the vagina the rectum also comes out hrough the anus.
Prostate gland Gland situated at the base of bladder. It surrounds the beginning of the urethra in men. Enlargement of this gland can cause obstruction of urine.
