GLOSSARY A-Z 150 sleep-splint

Sleep   Sleep   is the period for repair and recovery when the body and its senses are at rest. Insomnia is a sleep disorder.

Speech defect   Faulty or delayed speaking may be due to hearing defects , hare lip cleft palate or cerebral palsy.

 A  physician can define the cause and suggest treatment.

Sperm   The living cells in the semen. They fertilise the ovum.

Splint   Any device that helps to prevent movement of an injured part. Splints are usually made of rigid wood or metal that can help support the limb while the patient is being transported
