ANGINA 1
*Decreased blood supply to the heart muscle causes angina, this is due to diseased (blocked) arteries, also called coronary artery disease (CAD).
*Angina is chest pain caused due to decreased blood supply, which results in inadequate oxygen supply to the heart muscles.
*The pain can be in the form of a feeling of tightness or pressure
in the chest.
*Angina appears when oxygen demand is more then supply as on
-Walking,
-Exercise or
-Emotional stress.
COMPLICATION.
In all coronary artery disease the inner lining of the arteries supplying blood to the heart muscle are blocked.
There are cholesterol containing islands, on the inner lining of heart vessels (plaque).
If the plaque splits or blood clots occur, around the plaque heart attack (known as myocardial infarction)MI can occur.
