If you have been diagnosed to have diabetes you can help the
treatment by;
-Insuring strict following of treatment schedule (when to take
drugs)
-Strict diet controls advised by treating physician
-Exercise and physical activity the more active you are the
lower will be your blood suger
-Avoid stress or exposure to cold, illness for they cause secretion of stress hormones that raise your blood sugar
-Do not smoke
-Look after your feet keep them clean and free of infection
Today you can check your own blood sugar and inject your dose of
Insulin at home
Complications: Diabetics are prone to heart disorders due to
damage to small and large blood vessels.
Another complication of diabetes is nerve tissue degeneration resulting in loss of sensation.
A minor infection, if ignored and not treated, could
lead to gangrene.
Prevention: Maintaining proper body weight through diet and
regular exercise is the best precaution for an individual with a
family history of diabetes.
Consult your physician for choice of suitable drug therapy and diet for you.
