Rabies is diseases caused by being bitten by a rabid dog in developing countries like India
It is caused by a virus in the saliva of rabies infected dogs.
In other countries Bats Cyoties raccoons and monkey bites can also cause rabies
Go and see a doctor on being bitten do not wait for symptoms
Those who have symptoms cannot be saved by treatment
Symptoms
Fever
Agitation
Restlessness
Difficulty in swallowing
Fear of water(hydrophobia)
Treatment is with
A fast acting injection near the site of the bite to neutralize the toxins nea the bite
B A series of injections over the next 28 days.
Prevention is by reporting all stray dogs to be removed and observed for signs of disease
