TETANUS

Any wound or injury contaminated with the soil can result in tetanus (any road traffic injury)
The infecting bacteria is clostridium tetani found an animal excreta

Go and see your doctor after any street accident.
All children have received DPT and the doctor decides if you need a booster dose of toxoid.
The wound needs cleaning and cover to help early healing
Antibiotics may be required to prevent other infections of the wound
