VARICOSE VEINS
Varicose veins are enlarged veins in the legs.
The veins become visible, may lead to red dilated vein spots and even ulcers near the veins.
Causing pain and tiredness, and there is mild ache in the legs.
They are caused due to wearing tight garments obstructing flow of blood
Occupations that involves standing for long periods.
Heart failure and pregnancy can also cause varicose veins.
SELF CARE
Do not wear tight garments on the legs.
* If you have to stand for a long time is required, move about or
exercise the leg muscles and empty the veins
* Some relief can be experienced by using elastic supports or
bandages which assist the flow of blood
* Losing weight in case of obesity helps relieve symptoms
Treatment
The veins can be injected with sclerosing fluid to cause closure of
the veins this provides relief
The veins can also be ligated by surgery
