Technical terms come up in discussion with your physician at various stages of your meeting/ encounters with him.
 If the meaning of these terms is lost on you, you do not benefit from the discussion.
 It is therefore important that you understand the meaning and content of these terms.
This not only helps you to understand fully what is said but also helps you to ask question to clarify issues raised by your understanding. 
 Given below are the terms which you would come across in the discussion.

Petit mal (pet e mal)  A minor episode of epilepsy. There is only loss of awareness; there are no convulsions
Phagocytosis   (fag o sy to sis)  The engulfing or swallowing of harmful material by phagocyte white cells

Phimosis  (fy mo sis) Inflammation of the penis. The foreskin (prepuce) of the penis cannot be pulled back to expose glans of penis.  This is a very painful condition. Circumcision may be required.   

Phobia  (fo bia)  Strong fear of a place or thing. It is seen in childhood and pregnancy

Pica (py ka) Craving to eat non-foods like soil, chalk, clay. It is seen in childhood and pregnancy
