GLOSSARY A-Z 152


Technical terms come up in discussion with your physician at various stages of your meeting/ encounters with him.
 If the meaning of these terms is lost on you, you do not benefit from the discussion.
 It is therefore important that you understand the meaning and content of these terms.
This not only helps you to understand fully what is said but also helps you to ask question to clarify issues raised by your understanding.

Tapeworm This is a long falt worm that lives in the  intestine. It can cause pain in the abdomen. Prevented by thorough  cooking of all  meat. Treatment is by worm killing drugs.
Tartar Also called plaque . It is the deposition of bacteria and salts on teeth.
Tennis elbow  Repeated stress on the extensor muscle attachment on the outer bony prominence of the elbow
